Questions
When does the Flying Star year change?+
At Li Chun, the start of spring in the solar calendar, around 4 February — not on 1 January or Lunar New Year.
How is the annual chart calculated?+
The centre star decreases by one each year (2026 has 1 at the centre, 2027 has 9). The other stars follow the Luo Shu flight path: centre → North-West → West → North-East → South → North → South-West → East → South-East.
Which stars are considered challenging?+
In Period 9 (2024–2043), practitioners commonly treat 2, 3, 5 and 7 as stars to keep quiet, and 9, 1 and 8 as supportive. The 5 Yellow is the one most often watched.
Is this a natal (house) chart?+
No — this page shows the annual layer, which is the same for every home. A natal chart depends on the building’s facing and construction period.
